I was born and raised in Maryland, grew up in Kensington and Rockville, and attended college at the University of Maryland, College Park. My Bachelor’s degree is in Psychology. After spending some time interning in the daycare of a women’s shelter in D.C. and then having and caring for my first daughter, I realized my passion for working with young children, and decided to pursue my Montessori Early Childhood certification. I have been a Montessori teacher now, either at the Primary (age 3-6) or Infant/Toddler (birth to 3) level for over 27 years now. I have been living in Edgewater, MD for about twelve years, and I love my beautiful commute through Calvert County. I have three children, ranging in age from 17 to 29. My oldest, Sienna, who had the pleasure of substitute teaching at Tidewater three years ago, is now residing in Nashville. My 20-year-old, Juliana, just graduated from Frostburg University with a degree in wildlife rehabilitation, and my youngest, Jackson, is about to begin his senior year at South River High School. I am also the proud mama of three rescue pups, Chewbarka (Chewie), Bubba, and Cindy Lou. My biggest adventure has been to live in the Virgin Islands (I lived on St. Croix for two years after college). I adore living by the water and doing all the things related to this: going to the beach, boating, fishing, and eating crabs. I try to exercise regularly and have been a quasi-vegetarian (I do eat seafood) since I was 11 years old.
